On behalf of the Downy Caney Creek Club Lot Owners Association, I would like to thank everyone in the private sector who made contributions to improve the roads without your help this could not have been done Hall Road bought 7 loads and they were matched with 7 Albacore bought 7 loads they were matched with 5 Chimira bought one load and were matched with 3 Oceana bought 3 loads they were matched with 3 Nautilus bought 2 loads and were matched with 2 and there has been about 34 loads put on Marlin Seaview 1 load . A special thanks goes out to the Mud district for their purchase of 6 loads of rock and there offer to help patch the roads when necessary . We would like to thank Gus Holmelin for doing such a fantastic job on the roads. Gus took a week of his vacation to come to Sargent and work on the roads. In that week he put down close to 800 tons of limestone. He covered almost all of Marlin, a good part of Hall and some of the side streets. If you see Gus on the street stop and let him know how much you appreciate it.

We added 4 new Board Of Directors, James Sarbeck, Sally Morse, Chris Rankin, & James Farrar. We want to thank Mrs Sarbeck for finding officers & directors insurance for DCCCLOA. We still have openings for 3 more directors. If anyone is interested in serving as a director please come to our next meeting March 29.

The Board of Directors has voted in Gus Holmelin as our newest Board of Director. Gus will be taking over the responsibility of overseeing the road maintenance.

The Directors and Officers Insurance was not renewed by the insurance company. Ruth Risinger, Kevin Irwin, & Julia Lucksinger all resigned as Directors.
January 26, 2013
Perry Johnson resigned from being in charge of the roads. Dave Tuttle will now be overseeing road maintenance. Fran Ratliff resigned from the Board Of Directors due to her moving to Temple. Lamar Brown also resigned from the Board due to other obligations. Ã‚

Our next meeting has been moved to December 1, 2012. Due to the boat parade. There will not be a meeting held at the end of December. February 13, 2013 will be the first meeting for the new year.

Board member, Bill Pendergraft resigned from the board on Saturday March 31st. Bill sold his property in Downeys and is no longer eligible to serve. We will miss him and want him to know that we appreciate his time and input as a board member. A replacement will be appointed at the next board meeting. Ten additional streetlights have been added within the DCCCLOA subdivision. Most are new lights, placed at intersections and areas that were unlit, such as Neptune and in the Marlin area. There were also some lights that existed but were not working and not on the DCCCLOA billing, such as the second bridge on Carancahua. That area is now lit and, hopefully, much safer. There will be six (6) positions up for election at the annual August meeting. The election committee will soon be seeking people to run for the board. More details coming soon. The mosquito spraying seems to be helping.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Board members have received calls from some residents expressing their appreciation for the spray. Again, DCCCLOA board members wish to remind you that the monthly meetings are held the last Saturday of each month at 6:00 PM at the Library. Everyone is welcome to attend. Corner . . .
Just wanted to let you all know that a member recently received a letter, appearing to be on Downey's letterhead and being sent by me. No signature, just my name. Won't go into details, but the letter was a little rude. The ONLY mail that Downey's has sent out is the 2010 billing (mailed in March) and the 2011 billing (mailed in July & accompanied by the ballot & newsletter). If any of you receive a letter from Downey's board or myself, please contact me at this e-mail address. I need to know when someone sends out mail in my name!
Remember, our meetings are open to all members - would like to see some of you at the next meeting.
